  • Feather, Teardrop and Rectangle Flags: Printed flying banners in three shapes and three sizes, complete with carbon-fibre pole, carry bag and base, or as replacement printed flags.
  • Flag Bases, Poles and Kits: Bases, spikes, brackets and wheel kits for flying banners, high-rise kits for car forecourts and a giant pole for a 1.1 x 4.1 m flag.
  • Wall, Window and Aisle Flags: Projecting wall flag kits, suction-mount window flags, printed PVC display flags and magnetic aisle flag arms.
  • Banner Frames: Freestanding A-frame and wall-mounted banner frames that hold a 2840 x 1090 mm eyeleted banner taut and make swapping banners easy.

Movement and height are what make flying banners work. A flag two or more metres tall, moving in the breeze, is seen over parked cars and crowds long before a sign at eye level. They go up in minutes, travel in a bag and can be reused for years with new printed flags.

Feather, teardrop or rectangle

  • Feather flags are tall and curved, the tallest profile for the size, ideal for a logo and a short word or two.
  • Teardrop flags keep their shape, so the full design shows even when the air is still.
  • Rectangle flags have a square top and give the most usable area for text, offers and phone numbers.

All three come in small, medium and large, and the feather also in a medium double-sided version.

Fabric and sleeves

Close-weave 110 gsm polyester gives the brightest colours. Air-mesh 115 gsm lets more wind through, which reduces strain on exposed sites. A wrap-around sleeve gives the largest print area; an elasticated sleeve in black or white lasts longer on a flag that is up every day.

Choosing a base

  • Grass and soft ground: ground spike.
  • Concrete and paving: cross base with water bag.
  • Any surface: water-fill tank base, which can also be filled with sand.
  • Indoors: flat base plates.
  • Walls: horizontal, angled or vertical brackets.
  • Car forecourts: high-rise kits on a wheel base that sits under a tyre.
  • Gazebos: a bracket for the gazebo leg.

Other flags

Projecting wall flag kits and suction-mount window flags bring a flag to a shop front. Magnetic aisle flag arms project messages into supermarket aisles. A giant pole carries a 1.1 x 4.1 m textile flag. Banner frames hold a 2840 x 1090 mm banner on the ground or on a wall.

Weather and safety

Take flags down in strong winds; poles and bases are designed for normal breezy conditions, not storms. On a building frontage, use a small teardrop on an angled bracket so the flag cannot wrap against the wall. Flags near a road should not block drivers' view. Flags and signs on buildings may need advertisement consent from your planning authority; rules differ between councils and between england, wales, scotland and northern ireland, so check with your local council before you put anything on a public pavement.

Printing to go with it

Most of these displays need something printed inside them. We also print feather flags, banners: PVC banners, mesh banners, printed flags, roller banners and café barrier banners. Order the display and the print together and they arrive ready to use.

Flags & Flying Banners: questions answered

Which flying banner shape should I choose?

Feather for height, teardrop for a shape that always shows the full design, rectangle for the most room for text.

What base do I need?

Ground spike on grass, cross base with water bag on hard ground, water-fill tank base on any surface, base plate indoors.

Can I buy just the printed flag?

Yes, choose "Printed flag only" to refresh a flag on a pole you already have.

Are the flags double-sided?

Single-layer flags show a mirror image on the back. The medium feather flag is also available truly double-sided.

How long do the flags last?

It depends on wind and daylight. Flags that are up every day fade and fray faster; elasticated sleeves and bringing the flag in at night help.

Can flags go on my shop wall?

Yes, with a wall bracket, a projecting flag kit or a suction window flag.
